Dr. Yanrong Li has engaged in the study of electronic materials for 26 years, and mainly focused on the growth of inorganic thin films as well as the fabrication of thin film electronic and photoelectronic devices. Currently, he is the President of Sichuan University, and the director of State Key Laboratory of Electronic Thin Films and Integrated Devices.
Dr. Yanrong Li invented a method to simultaneously prepare YBCO double-sided thin films by single-target magnetron sputtering. Based on this invention, he developed 3-inch double-sided YBCO thin films with low microwave resistance and excellent homogeneity to fulfill the demand for passive microwave devices, such as resonators, filters, multiplexer etc. In addition, he developed the technical route of producing high quality BST pyroelectric thin films on Si for infrared detectors. Moreover, he integrated a series of technology of producing thin film sensors for extreme conditions. All these achievements well meet the demand of electronic industry in China.
Dr. Yanrong Li has got over 40 issued patents and has published more than 300 papers. Due to his contribution to electronic thin film materials, he has won many awards including the prestigious National Prize for technological invention granted by the State Council of China. In 2011, he was been elected as the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Currently, Dr. Yanrong Li not only manages the State Key Laboratory of Electronic Thin Films and Integrated Devices, but also continues to develop thin films of emerging electronic materials, such as 2D materials, topological insulators for transistors and photodetectors.
