Prof Guanghua Chen is born on August 2nd 1936 in Xian LanTian County. He graduated from Department of Physics, Lanzhou University in 1958. After that, he joined Department of Electronic Engineering, Jilin University in 1967. To pursued advanced studies he joined Department of Physics, Beijing University and Department of Electronics, Japanese Kanazawa University. He joined again Department of Physics, Lanzhou University as a Semiconductor Physics faculty and made it as his research interest too. He promoted as professor in 1985 and elected as doctoral supervisor in 1990. Later, he joined College of Materials, Beijing University of Technology in year 1994 as a professor and doctoral tutor. Also, he is a Deputy Director, Amorphous & Microcrystalline Materials Physics Division, Chinese Physical Society, and a branch committee member of semiconductor physics.
He attended many International conferences of his research interest as well on photovoltaic in Japan, Germany, United States, India and Hungary and published advanced conference papers. He has served as several conference committee member. He visited Kanazawa University, Japan to augment his scientific research as well collaborations. He almost published 500 academic theses which include 200 SCI papers. He gained 6 national invention patents and won 11 Science & Technology progress prize. He guided 35 doctoral and 90 master students, most of which have been accomplished in the academic and scientific areas, such as Yangtze River scholars and One Hundred Scholar Plan.
