Dr. Ying-Wei Song, Prof. in the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR), received her Ph.D degree in Material Sciences from IMR in 2006.

Chief Achievements

A series of coatings were developed for Mg alloys, e.g. the multifunctional electroless Nickel plating technique was applied to the Mg alloy parts in aerospace industry; The self-sealing pore and high corrosion-resistant Micro-Arc Oxidation technique was applied to the Mg alloy parts in aerospace industry; The environmentally friendly, low cost conversion film technique was applied to the Mg base demo parts of high-speed rail industry. There were more than 70 papers with total citation of more than 2400 times. There were 8 China invention patents and 1 US invention patent. She has assumed the research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Basic Research Program of China, International cooperation, ect. She was granted the Distinguished Young Academic Award of Corrosion and Protection, Liaoning Technical Invention First Award, and Liaoning BaiQianWan Talents Program. A paper was awarded “Key article” by maney publishing. A paper was granted “Materials Letters Top Cited Article 2007 to 2011” by Elsevier.
