2015 National Natural Science Award (ranked first);
2016 the fourteenth "China Youth Science and Technology Award" and the first "China outstanding young science and technology talent award";
2016 the Distinguished visiting fellowship of the Royal Society of Engineers.
Dr Feng Zhou is a surface and interface scientist. He developed a number of novel ways to modify surfaces with especially polymer brushes that are highly cited in the fields. He and colleagues put forward the engineering special wetting materials and greatly pushed the fundamental research to industries. He was the first to discuss the relationship between 'wetting' and 'lubrication', a deep interpretation of Chinese translation of lubrication and discuss friction control, which are all reflected from his two invited review papers. He builds very strong links with industries and commercialize ten more products, which brings very much profits for companies.
