Wei Huang, is a Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chair Professor of the "Thousand Talents Program" and the "Cheung Kong Scholars Program", winner of the "National Outstanding Youth Fund", Chief Scientist of the "National 973 Programs", Visiting Professor of the National University of Singapore, Honorary Professor and Adjunct Professor of Peking University and the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other institutions.. After receiving his PhD in Chemistry from Peking University in 1992, Prof. Huang began his postdoctoral research in Chemistry Department, National University of Singapore, where he participated in the founding of the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering. Later he became Professor with the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore. In 2001, he became Chair Professor at Fudan University, where he founded Institute of Advanced Materials. In 2006, he was appointed as the Deputy President of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, where he initiated the Institute of Advanced Materials and the Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics and Information Displays. In 2012, he was appointed as President of Nanjing Tech University (NanjingTech) and then he founded the Institute of Advanced Materials in NanjingTech.
Huang’s research interests include organic optoelectronics, nanomaterial, polymer chemistry, plastic electronics and bioelectronics, and flexible electronics. Prof. Huang is one of the earliest and most eminent scholars in the field of organic optoelectronics and has great reputation in international community. His contributions to this discipline have led to wide-ranging publications that address both fundamental and more applied topics. He has an h-index of 73, having thus far published over 600 peer-reviewed journal papers with over 17000 citations. He is an editorial board member of top international journals as Advanced Materials,Advanced Electronic Materials and Progress in Polymer Science, etc.
