Zhiguang Wang is the Professor of Material science at the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Materials, Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He obtained his BSc in Physics from Lanzhou University in 1985 and PhD in Physics (Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics) from the IMP-CAS in 1999. Wang joined the Institute of Modern Physics, CAS in 1985. In 2002 he served as a professor and the head of the material irradiation group of the IMP-CAS from 2002-10. Since 2010 he served as the head of the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Materials of the IMP-CAS.
Wang is a Fellow of the Nuclear Material Society, a member of the IC committee of the International Conference of Atomic Collisions in Matter, a vice-Chairman of Reactor Physics & Nuclear Material Branch of China Nuclear Physics Society, a vice-Chairman of the Committee of Heavy Ion Application of NLHIRFL and a member of the editorial boards of Nuclear Physics Review (China). .
Wang has published more than 100 papers and has presented over 20 keynote or invited talks at international meetings and conferences. His current research interests include interaction between energetic-ions with materials, irradiation effects and damage engineering in solids, R&D of new materials for ADS (Accelerator Driven System) and advanced nuclear energy systems.
