Yafei Zhang is the Chang Jiang Chair Professor of the Research Institute of Miro/Nano Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He was obtained his S.B., S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in semiconductor physics and devices from Lanzhou University in 1994. He was a post-doctoral member of Research Staff at Chemical Analysis Laboratory of Lanzhou University from 1994–1995, and a Research Scientist at the Research Institute for Inorganic materials in Tsukuba, Japan from 1996-1997. In 1998, he was a Visiting Scientist joined the Centre of Super-Diamond and Advanced Films, City University of Hong Kong. From 1999-2001, he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Research Institute for Inorganic materials in Tsukuba. Since 2002, Professor Yafei Zhang moved to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he is currently the Chair Professor of Micro/Nanometer Science & Technology Institute and Director of Key Laboratory for Thin Film and Microfabrication of the Ministry of Education.
Zhang is the Editor-in-Chief of Nano-Micro Letters and the Leader of the Key Laboratory for Thin Film and Microfabrication Technology of the Ministry of Education, China.
Yafei Zhang has authored 260 papers, 4 books and over 50 patents. He has been invited to deliver 20 invited keynote speeches in international conferences or institutions and participated as the member of the organizing committee for 3 Journals. His current research interests include Nano/Micro-scale materials, property characterizations and fabrications of inorganic materials, electronic nanodevices.
