Deren Yang

Deren Yang, a Cheung Kong Professor, is the director of the State Key Lab of Silicon Materials and Institute of Semiconductor Materials at Zhejiang University in China. He received his bachelor in 1985 and his Ph. D. degree in 1991 from Zhejiang University, and then has worked there. In 1990’s, he worked in Japan, Germany and Sweden as a visiting researcher. In 2000, he was promoted by Ministry of Education of China as a Cheung Kong Professor. He received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in China in 2002, and won Award of Chinese Young Science and Technology in 2006.

He has engaged in the research of silicon materials used for microelectronic devices, solar cells and nano-devices. He has authored 11 books as an author or co-authors including 4 books in English. He has published over 500 research papers in international peer reviewed journals with the total of over 4200 citations. H index is 38. He also holds 83 patents. In the past, he chaired or co-chaired 12 international conferences/symposia and was appointed as the member of international committee of 33 international conferences. He also presented more than more than 40 plenary/invited talks in international conferences. He also is the editors of 3 international journals.
