Honglie Shen

Honglie Shen is the distinguished professor of functional materials and devices at Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics (NUAA). He obtained his BSc in Physics in Jiangxi University in 1982 and PhD in Semiconductor Physics in Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy, CAS in 1990. From October 1992 to November 1994, he joined Electrotechnical Laboratory in Japan as a postdoctor scientist. After returning to China, he was appointed as a deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Functional Materials for Informatics. He was promoted to a full research professor at the end of 1995. From May 2003 to November 2004, he was invited to work at AIST in Japan, Rice University in USA, and University of Toronto in Canada as a visiting professor. At the end of 2004, he joined NUAA as a distinguished professor.

Shen was awarded Excellent Chinese Ph. D. Recipient from Chinese Government in 1991. He received the Special Allowance Award of the Chinese Government for excellent scientist in 1998.

Shen has published more than 240 papers with a total of over 1000 citations. He has supervised or co-supervised 14 PhD students. His current research interests include solar energy materials and devices, optoelectronic materials and energy storage materials.
