Joosun Kim is a Principal Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D in Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST in 1998. Dr. Kim’s expertise ranges across solid oxide fuel cells, solar cells and thin film Li-ion battery. After the Post-Doctoral experiances in Univ. of Pennsylvaina (UPENN), he transferred to KIST.
He has extensive experience in the fabrication and characterization of thin-film based energy device such as solid-oxide fuel cells and all-solid-state thin-film battery. In particular, his resent research on fuel cell catalyst appeared in Scientific Report collaboration with the Prof. Jooho Moon. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications in SCI journals as well as 30 patents in Korea & US. His experience and knowledge provides strong completeness for fabricating and characterization the thin-film heterojunction.
He had serviced as a deligation of IEA-IETS (International Energy Agency – Industrial Energy Technology Systems) excutive committee. After that, Dr. Kim has serviced to Korean government as a Program Manager(PM) taking charge of Nanotechnology & Materials Science division and contributed to launching Korean Materals Genome Initiatve Program. Now he is director general of Convergence Research Policy Center. In 2018, and elected as a vice-chairman of advance convergence researh society in Korea. Currently, Dr. Kim is also a technical expert of National Science and Technology Commission.
