S.V. Panin works at ISPMS SB RAS since July, 1993. He got his PhD in 1997. Starting from 1996 he has been working as the researcher, senior researcher (1998). In 2006 he became a head of laboratory of Mechanics of Polymer Composite Materials. In 2012 he became deputy director on research of Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science SB RAS. Since 2002 he has part-time position of assistant professor (till 2006) and professor of National research Tomsk polytechnic university at the material science department of Engineering School of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.
Research activity of Panin S.V. is related to physical mesomechanics of materials. He deals with investigations of plastic deformation and fracture of materials with coatings and surface-strengthened layers, as well as polymer composite materials. The purpose of the study is design of new composite materials (with specified structure and properties), increasing of mechanical and tribotechnical properties by adding nanostructural fillers and high energy treatments. Another area of his activity is development of optical and acoustic means for strain measurement and nondestructive testing.
S.V. Panin is the author of more than 300 research papers (more than 60 are cited in WebOfScience, more than 130 are cited in Scopus) including 10 monographs, 6 patents of RF, 16 certificates on Software registration Russian Federation issued by State Patent Agency
