The main areas of research are organic nanophotonics, photophysics, and photochemistry of supramolecular systems. Together with his students, he made a significant contribution to the study and modeling of the spectral and photochemical properties of molecules (as well as complexes and aggregates based on them), the development of methodology for organic and inorganic synthesis, the study of self-organization of molecular and nanoscale systems using optical and photochemical properties, design and directional synthesis of optically and photochemically active nanoscale structures, the creation on their basis of chemosensory materials
